Kyanite is found in gray, black, blue, green, yellow, pinkish and most recently orange long columnar crystals (like tourmaline but generally flatter and more rectangular). Kyanite is one of my absolute favorite minerals, and I get especially excited when it's gemmy and well-formed because the vibrations are so much more well-ordered and accessible.

Kyanite's metaphysical uses are wide and vast, but it is perhaps most popular as a meditation device, as it is known to induce meditation and relax the mind. It never needs to be cleansed of negative energy, and cleanses, activates, and aligns the Chakras.

Because of the focus that it can instill, it is very useful for those who practice magic or any sort of visualization practices. It's also protective, and a great mineral to utilize while astral projecting or doing journey work. It can also be used to transmute negative energy before it has time to sully your aura. It's a great mineral, with many more uses than these. Most likely, when you hold the piece, you will intuit how it will best serve you and your needs.

The energetic properties of Orange Kyanite are the same as blue or green material, smooth and meditative, but this variety is a little more active- it would be useful for those who need to maintain a calmly energetic awareness; this material seems to be more "in the moment" than Blue or Green Kyanite, and less internal or dreamy. Orange Kyanite is a great mineral for physical activity and endurance.

I assume Orange Kyanite would be useful to those involved in Fire magic or Solar worship, though I have no experience to speak of.
