One of the five crystal forms of titania (TiO₂). Rutile is a protective, shielding mineral, though I don't find it to be especially grounding. It is used to bring order and structure, and I credit the structured nature of its energy field with its ability to shield and block unwanted energy. I also consider rutile to be useful in matters of communication. Lastly, as its appearance is different when viewed from different light sources, rutile would be useful for glamor and invisibility magic as well.
